HOME SWEET HOME!!! :)

I am updating today, although nothing new has really changed in my life yet!!!  However, it's getting so close to find out where I will begin my new adventure!!!  I'm getting SOOOO excited!!!
I made the long 5 hour trip to western KS today after a night of work!!!  I will be here for 5 days, and just enjoying my family as seeing them will not be as esay or as often when I leave to travel!!!  My parents always put a big 4th of July bash at their house, complete with backyard games, BBQ, fireworks, and of course great friends!!!  My sisters and I always look forward to this party every year!!!
As I drove into western KS this morning, my childhood came flashing back as wheat harvest is in full swing!!!  I loved going to Ellis to my aunt and uncle's farm when my dad helped them harvest wheat and ride on the tractors, grain trucks, and combines!!!  Seeing all the combines in the fields brought me back to those wonderful childhood memories that I will never forget!!!
I'm signing off for the day...I will hoping know more about my first travel assingment by the end of the week or beginning of next!!!  I'm looking forward to a pedicure and manicure with my mom and little sister tomorrow morning!!!

New Adventure!!!

I have decided to take a big jump in my life and become a travel nurse!!!  I'm so excited!!!  I have decided to start a blog so that I am able to talk about my new life and adventures, along with sharing pictures to everyone!!!
I have not found out where I am going first, but should know sometime in July.  My lease on my apartment has kept me in KC, since I only had a few months left on it. I also was able to get all the dates I needed off this summer at the hospital that I'm currently employed by, so I decided not to travel until the beginning of August!
I'm sure that some of my followers are wondering what travel nursing consists of!  I am employed a company called, Medical Solutions, and they shell my professional profile out to hospitals that are short staffed all over the country! (I'm hoping that after I get a couple travel assignments under my belt, I will be able to go to Hawwaii and Alaska) That hospital then contacts me and interviews me over the phone.  After the phone interview and the hospital wants me to work there, I travel to that town/city and work under a contract.  The average length of a contract is 3 months.  This company pays for my travel expenses, my housing, and they give me a small amount of money for phone and utilities as well as my hourly wage.  My recuiter, Ashley has been wonderful thus far, and I'm hoping that she is able to land me a great first travel assignment!  I'll be letting you know when and where I'm going as soon as I know!!!
